Australia wins against England in last Twenty20

All is well that ends well, yes, this is something Australian players are saying now, with the win over England in the last Twenty20 match.

With this win, England’s world record in Twenty20 format as eight wins in a row come to an end, as the Kangaroos win the last game by 4 runs.

A target of 148 runs looks quite in the reach of English players, but fours and sixes were hard to come as the ground was large.

The England innings got off to a fine start, as Ian Bell continued his solid form and put on 60 for the first wicket with Steve Davies. Bell's 39 came off 30 balls before he played on to Mitchell Johnson, while Davies made 29 off 26. But, as with Australia, scoring runs came easier when the ball was new and hard.

England's two most economical bowlers were Graeme Swann and Michael Yardy, who both took two wickets for 19 runs, and even Kevin Pietersen got a twirl, bowling two overs, though they did cost 17 runs, including a driven six by Finch, who was playing only his second match. The batsman also hit Ajmal Shahzad for a maximum over midwicket.

At 63 for one in the seventh over, after another assault from Shane Watson, Australia appeared to be on course for a big total. But all the batsmen struggled to hit the slow bowlers away.

Victoria's other player in this match, the captain, Cameron White, did not have such a good game. He was lbw to Swann for a second-ball duck.
