According to latest news from the media front, a wall neighboring to a ticket counter collapsed as people thronged MA Chidambaram Stadium to buy seats for upcoming World Cup matches.
The Press Trust of India has announced in its report that around two people sustaining minor injuries, but the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, which is answerable for organizing matches at the venue, dismissed the incident as "insignificant."
While talking to media, TNCA media co-ordinator Dr. R.N. Baba told The Associated Press said, “The wall collapse did not affect ticket sales, which went on smoothly."
Chennai will host four matches during the 14-team tournament — New Zealand-Kenya on Feb. 20, England-South Africa on March 6, England-West Indies on March 17, and India-West Indies on March 20.
The event opens on Feb. 19.
