Australia lost early wickets against Sri Lanka in 1st Test match


According to some fresh reports from the cricket, Australia lost the wickets of its two opening batsmen cheaply before lunch on the opening day of the first cricket Test against Sri Lanka in Galle on Wednesday.

Australia captain has won the toss and decided to bat first, were 76 for two at the break with Ricky Ponting and skipper Michael Clarke on 21 runs each, the pair having put on 40 for the third wicket.

The start was delayed by an hour due to overnight rains, but coverings ensured the wicket and the outfield remained dry.
                                                                                            
         
In the meantime, Australia had lost their four wickets at the score of 141 runs.



Australia: Watson, Hughes, Ponting, Clarke (c), Hussey, Khawaja, Haddin, Johnson, Harris, Copeland, Lyon.

Sri Lanka: Dilshan (c), Paranavitana, Sangakkara, M Jayawardene, Samaraweera, Mathews, P Jayawardene, Herath, Randiv, Lakmal, Welegedara.
