Indian Team announced for Kolkata Test, Harbhajan still not selected

According to the fresh news there will be no change in the Indian cricket team squad for the second test against West Indies series starts on November 14 in Kolkota. In this test leg-spinner Rahul Sharma will again replace the offspiner Harbhajan Singh.

Though India won the first test in Delhi with the margin of 5 wickets, but West Indies gave a tough task as they took a 95- run lead in first-innings .The batsman that just returned from their injury like Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar made vital hand-outs to the victory. Three other players like Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma and Yuvraj Singh showed their out-come of the fitness problem through-out the test.

The new bowling attack with untested left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha fared well taking six wickets and Man of the Match R Ashwin grabs six wickets in the second innings on his introduction match. Their extraordinary presentation ensured that Harbhajan, a confident chooses in Indian team will have to wait for the chance to make his comeback.

Harbhajan Singh Dropped for 1st Two-ODI matches against England


According to the fresh reports released by the BCCI saying that it has issued the list of all the 15-man squad for the first two games of their one-day international series against England, which starts on 14 October.

Further. The fresh list includes seven players, including star names Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh who are missing with injuries sustained on the recent tour of England.

However, the good news is that opening batsman Gautam Gambhir returns after missing the ODIs in England with concussion.

But there is no place for fit-again spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Harbhajan ruled out; Yuvraj still not well

Harbhajan, who is struggling with form, picked up the injury during the second Test at Trent Bridge which India lost by a massive 319 runs on Monday. He is likely to be replaced with Amit Mishra if India doesn't decide to go with a all pace attack.

"Harbhajan has a grade one lower abdominal tear and is expected to be out of action for 10-12 days," ESPN Cricinfo reported.

Yuvraj, who was hit on the left hand by quick Tim Bresnan on Monday, had a scan on the injured hand.

“The forefinger is swollen and Yuvi can’t even lift it... It’s just not encouraging,” a team official said.

Zaheer Khan is recovering from a right hamstring strain.

But the good news was the Virender Sehwag landed in London on Wednesday morning and headed straight head to Northampton for the two-day match there against Northants, beginning Friday.

Opener Gautam Gambhir, who picked up an elbow injury during the opening Test, is also set to return for the Edgbaston Test.

Sehwag missed the first two Tests and the West Indies series to recuperate from a shoulder surgery.

The third Test in Birmingham, starts on August 10.

ICC World Cup:- Indians focus on batting training


According to the latest news from the ICC World Cup Cricket, the Indian players are now more focused about their batting training at the National Cricket Academy grounds in Bangalore.

The little master from the Indian team Sachin Tendulkar, who underwent a MRI Scan at a Mumbai hospital on Sunday after feeling some pain in his knees, had light weight training at the gym and didn't bat or bowl.

However, Ashish Nehra, who did not, played the opening World Cup 2011 game against Bangladesh due to a back spasm, joined the team late and opted for some light weight training.

The middle-order batsman from the team, Yuvraj Singh, did not bat and opted for some stretching exercises.

Virender Sehwag, Sreesanth and R Ashwin didn't come to the training on Tuesday.

In the meantime, main importance was given to batting, though Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan and Munaf Patel did have a bowl.

Gautam Gambhir batted against the seamers, for the longest time while MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Virat Kohli tried their batting skills against the spinners' nets, each tackling a few balls each.

Interestingly, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan didn't bowl but to chose to face throwdowns from the coach Gary Kirsten.

For the entire duration of the training session, Harbhajan and Zaheer faced only Kirsten.

They started playing the drives before they practiced pulling against the short-pitched deliveries.

India will face Bangladesh in World Cup opening match today


The long lasting wait is over, and the ICC World Cup 2011 is all set to start today.

The most favourite team India, which has high chances to life the cup this year, will face Bangladesh today match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium amid enthusiasm of cricket crazy fans.

This is going to be the day-night game, and would start at 2:30 pm (BST) at the renovated and well-decorated 25,000-capacity stadium. State-owned Bangladesh Television (BTV) will telecast the match live.

However, players from both the cricket teams made practices at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The Bengal-team will be their captain Shakib-Al-Hasan- made practice in the morning while MS Dhoni-led India in the afternoon.

India and Bangladesh are in Group B along with England, South Africa, West Indies Ireland and the Netherlands. Four teams will advance to the quarterfinals.

Probable Bangladesh Team: Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Mushfiqur Rahim (Wk), Raqibul Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan (Cap), Mahmudullah Riyad, Naeem Islam, Abdur Razzak, Shafiul Islam and Rubel Hossain.
