Former India skipper and all-rounder Kapil Dev would deliver the annual Dilip Sardesai Memorial Lecture at the Cricket Club of India on Thursday, in place of the original speaker, former Pakistan captain Imran Khan.

"Imran is stuck with the political situation in Pakistan. Kapil Dev is now going to deliver the lecture on the Future of Indian Cricket," said sources connected with the function on Wednesday.

England includes new faces against India, Pietersen rested

The England cricket board has recently announced a 13-man squad for the only T20 match against India at Old Trafford on August 31 and a 14-man squad for the ODI series  beginning from Spetember 3, on Friday.

In the meantime, the star player of the England team, Kevin Pietersen has been rested, Durham's Ben Stokes has been brought in after he made his debut against Ireland on Thursday. The team for the T20 has two uncapped players in Somerset's Jos Buttler and Nottinghamshire's Alex Hales.

Harbhajan ruled out; Yuvraj still not well

Harbhajan, who is struggling with form, picked up the injury during the second Test at Trent Bridge which India lost by a massive 319 runs on Monday. He is likely to be replaced with Amit Mishra if India doesn't decide to go with a all pace attack.

"Harbhajan has a grade one lower abdominal tear and is expected to be out of action for 10-12 days," ESPN Cricinfo reported.

Yuvraj, who was hit on the left hand by quick Tim Bresnan on Monday, had a scan on the injured hand.

“The forefinger is swollen and Yuvi can’t even lift it... It’s just not encouraging,” a team official said.

Zaheer Khan is recovering from a right hamstring strain.

But the good news was the Virender Sehwag landed in London on Wednesday morning and headed straight head to Northampton for the two-day match there against Northants, beginning Friday.

Opener Gautam Gambhir, who picked up an elbow injury during the opening Test, is also set to return for the Edgbaston Test.

Sehwag missed the first two Tests and the West Indies series to recuperate from a shoulder surgery.

The third Test in Birmingham, starts on August 10.
